Straight into the music, I was late tuning in so picked up on a forthcoming Expansion release, Jenitta - Getting Over You, Frank McCoomb's album has been getting plays for the last few weeks, it's finally got a release date for Sony Jazz for September 13th. Camel Hines outing Closer To The Source now signed to Expansion records, Hines will be appearing in the modern room as a part of an Expansion showcase at the Calla Gran in September (see what's on section). Terri Wells has a forthcoming album Indian Summer, and another forthcoming for Expansion is Katrina Johnson with Heaven and Earth. Over to Japanese released Cd's and the awesome Ivan Mateus - Somebody Knows How You Feel, which is bound to be setting alight to dance floors in all the modern rooms as is DeVox featuring Angie B Stone and Tell Me Baby which will shortly be featured on a best of Jerry DeVoe compilation CD due shortly for Expansion. Gary Taylor aand the mega track If You Ever Fall In Love Possess The Moment, Gary might be appearing at Calla Gran, although he's not yet confirmed.  Due out next month for warner Bros is Maisha - Mirror 20, and forthcoming in the UK is Craig T Cooper featuring the vocals of Gerald Levert on Pop Pop Pop Goes My Mind. Trina Brousard has been heavilly featured in the last few weeks, her track Sailing is in the CD which is expected soon. Over to anthems of the 80's and Janice Bullocks William Bell produced Do You Really Love Me.  Frank McCoombs album which is due shortly is called Love Stairs and the track Listen To Your Heart. Finally in the shops on import is the awesome Calvin Richardson track, and leading into Soul Boulevard with Katrina Johnson - Runnaway - Expansion, Aaran Nevile & True Solace - I Can't Imagine - Atlantic Records and Jenitta - Loving Every Minute.
Soul Boulevard's tasty gems this week are Randy Brown - I'm Here, Craig T Cooper - The Night You Said, Originals - Make It With You, Frankie Geering - Teardrops (Memphis recording only available in Japan), Infernal Blues machine - Write Me Me A Letter - London Records (Mickey Stevenson had a hand in it) and Tower Of Power - Just Another Day.
In The Cellar, guest in the studio is Dave Godin, there's lot's of requests this week and a lot of what's on. Musically we start with Newby & Johnson - Sweet Happiness, Marvin Gaye & Kim Weston - It's Gotta Be A Miracle, Vibrations - One Minute Julip, Supremes - He's All I've Got, Willie Kendrick - What's That On Your Finger.  A birthday tribute to Defosa Irwin, also known as Big Dee Irwin, born 4th August 1939 and celebrated 60 years, I Only Get This Feeling, happy birthday Big Dee.  More music it's Bottom & Company - Gonna Find A True Love.  And onto some sad news Tommy Ridgely has died in New Orleans, he hadn't been well for a while and Irma Thomas had been planning a benifit concert for him, he died before the concert - RIP Tommy - My Love is Getting Stronger.  It was announced last week that the Soul City label is about to start up again and Dave Godin explained that  it's no longer his copyright, as Soul City went into receivership, the label is technically owned by the reciever, someone has bought the rights to use the label and releases are expected soon.  Dave confirms that he has no interest in it at all, although he had been approached to lend his name to endorsing it he refused. Back to the music and Fantastic Four - I Can't Stop Looking For My Baby, some more what's on and then it's into the final hour which is dedicated to the music of Barbara Lynn, in anticipation of her visit to the Blackpool soul weekender 10-12 September
